The all electric galley was used for cooking the three meals per day. There is a range, oven, deep fat fryer, dishwasher and refrigerator. On station, meals were prepared for 12, while in port the entire crew of 18 was aboard. The crew knew what would be served for the coming week. A seaman was usually assigned to assist the cook with clean-up duties. Although it could get rather hot in the galley, the portholes were operable to allow a cooling sea breeze, weather permitting. A Sample Menu can be seen at the entrance.
