Engine Room - 23 ft. Level. Initial view: main maneuvering board. This board contains the main engine throttles (2 chrome hand-wheels at center. "Ahead" on the left, "Astern" on the right). Surrounding the throttle wheels are the most important temperature and pressure gauge to be constantly monitored by the watch engineer.

Panning right: the remote boiler automation panel.

Continuing to the right is the main engine turbine. The low pressure turbine is on the left, and the high pressure turbine (with 600 psi steam line entering the top) on the right.

Continuing to the right (right of the ladder) is the engine room log desk and a sound-powered phone booth.
