Panning clockwise:

  • Cooling water pumps used as part the sites heat exchanger system
  • Large pipe and valve delivers “deluge water” to the launch duct during a launch. This water is not for cooling. It is part of the sound suppression system and helps absorb the roar of the engine during launch
  • Looking up: The ribbed ceiling is actually the bottom of a 100,000 gallon (380,000 l) water tank
